Tinsley Curry, MSOT, OTR/L

Pediatric Occupational Therapist

About

Tinsley is a pediatric occupational therapist from Atlanta, Georgia. She earned her Master of Science in Occupational Therapy from Brenau University in 2017. Tinsley has a passion for working with children and uses a play-based approach with an emphasis on the development of sensory processing, self-regulation, motor, and play skills. She believes that building strong relationships is foundational to supporting children to become their best selves. Her goal for each child is to become resilient, confident, and joyful in their daily activities.

Tinsley has training in sensory integration, Therapeutic Listening, Learn Play Thrive Autism approach, and Handwriting Without Tears. She has worked in a variety of settings, including clinics, schools, and nature-based environments. Prior to entering private practice, she worked at the Atlanta Speech School in their Stepping Stones program, a multidisciplinary therapeutic preschool where she provided in-classroom support to three-year old and Kindergarten classrooms. This invaluable experience has provided Tinsley with a strong background and understanding of how to support students and teachers.

Prior to the Atlanta Speech School, Tinsley worked at a DIR/Floortime based clinic supporting children ages three to fourteen. Tinsley also had the privilege of working with the late Clay White in his outdoor therapeutic programs and believes that integrating nature into therapy facilitates opportunities for children to explore, challenge their bodies, and find meaning in their play. She also finds that parental involvement is integral to help children make progress and works closely with her client’s families to provide guidance and education.

Tinsley is honored to open her private practice and use Christy Kennedy's therapeutic space. In 1988, Christy started her pediatric practice and recently entered "semi-retirement" in 2024. Over the decades, Christy has created an intentional, therapeutic environment in her backyard in Decatur, which includes a sensory playroom, rope swing, resistance pool, outdoor obstacle courses, and more. She continues to see a small caseload of clients and consultations. You can find her contact info and website here
