Evaluations
Evaluations with your child are provided to assess your child's skills. A formal evaluation includes an hour long parent intake call, evaluation, and report. An evaluation helps to gain a better understand of your child's strengths and weaknesses. Evaluations assess the following areas:
Gross motor skills
Fine motor skills
Visual motor skills
Handwriting readiness
Motor planning
Sensory processing
Self-regulation
Individual Therapy
Individual sessions with you and your child are provided on a weekly basis and may occur one to two times a week. Taking into consideration your child’s sensory needs, a variety of activities will be used to address:
gross and fine motor coordination
motor planning (ideation, problem solving and execution)
foundational executive functioning skills
handwriting readiness
social and emotional development
self-regulation and arousal management from sensory avoiding to sensory seeking
Small Group Therapy
A group setting inherently involves a higher level of sensory processing and more complex social and emotional skill development. Our small groups are formed throughout the year when more than one child specifically needs support in an area shared by other children. Scheduling is dependent on the availability of the participants and therapists. Be sure and let us know if this focused support is an area of need for your child so we can determine if a group can be formed.
Small groups often organically form after our larger Sensory-Social Intensive in June. Consider making our summer program a priority for refining social-emotional skills needed for lasting relationships.
